Devonport has chosen our shade sail designs

The votes are in. Thank you to the 683 people who helped choose the artwork for the Stony Rise Village carpark shade sails.
With a clear winner in both categories, we closed voting a few days early. When Stony Rise Village opens in 2027, these two designs will be overhead in the carpark.
Trading by Allan Mansell

58% of votes (398 of 683)
Trading is Allan’s view of the trail to Devonport, and every set of footprints leads to the port. On one side are bull kelp, mutton birds, whales and shellfish. On the other are gum leaves. The work links ancient Aboriginal tracks with the pathways we walk today.
Allan Mansell is a Plangermaireenier artist and printmaker who works as Black Ant Art. His work tells stories of land, sea and the creatures in them.
Life Along the Mersey by Adele Auchterlonie

72% of votes (492 of 683)
Life Along the Mersey is a map of the river you could almost follow. It runs from Bluff Beach and the lighthouse to the Spirit of Tasmania, and takes in the caravan park, the mushroom toilet and more along the way.
Adele Auchterlonie paints memory maps. This design is built from the memories of Devonport that locals shared with us earlier this year.
Thank you
Thank you to Allan and Adele for four beautiful designs, and to everyone who shared a memory, voted or passed the word on.
Everyone who voted is in the draw for 1 of 5 $100 Woolworths gift cards. Winners will be contacted by email and announced by Wednesday 28 October on our Facebook and Instagram.
We’ll share more as the shade sails take shape. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for updates.
